Ground work is now underway to allow for the start of construction of Trus Joist Weyerhaeuser's $256-million engineered lumber mill in Kenora.

A company spokesperson has confirmed. construction on the plant is to begin June 1 following site preparation work.

The mill is being built on a 65-hectare site and will take nearly one-and-a-half years to build. Southern Ontario's Comstock is the general contractor for the project.
