A shortage of wood supply has forced a scaling back of operations at Bowater's Ignace sawmill, says Sue Prodaniuk, spokesperson for the company.

Three days after the reopening of Thunder Bay sawmill operations in Fort William First Nation, the Ignace sawmill reduced its workload, citing a lack of wood fibre as the reason.

"We don't have enough wood supply to operate the sawmill and at the same time supply the pulp and paper mill," she explains. "We have diverted all the fibre to the pulp and paper mill."
