The specialty of the firm is re-marketing vehicles and equipment of all sizes in the automotive, mining, forestry, construction and transportation industries either on a per-unit basis or as entire business operations.

In working with banks, leasing companies and other corporate entities, their forte is taking seized or liquidated assets and selling them by auction or direct sales to international customers, both large and small.

National Asset Recovery & Remarketing Services Inc is the diverse creation of a four-year-old marriage of two family-owned Sudbury companies operated by John Hicks and Dale Harnden. The best known of the companies amalgamated are National Repo Center and Sudbury Auto Auction. Their combined expertise in remarketing commercial equipment and auto auctions offers one-stop shopping for clients looking to quickly move business assets.

For both Hicks and Harnden, the partnership just made sense. "We were on parallel paths and we realized that by working together, we could offer one-stop services for our clients, including moving all operations to one facility" says Hicks.

The amalgamated business has resulted in a new facility on National Street in the northeast-end of Greater Sudbury. In 2004 NARRS constructed their new complex on 25 acres of land. The professional building houses their offices and the auction facility. The 25 acres of property devoted to their operations, features a fenced-in, secured compound with capacity for 1,000 vehicles or equipment with 24-hour security and video surveillance.

Their new entity, National Asset Recovery and Remarketing Services Inc. (NARRS), consolidated several companies including services in seizure, storage, appraisal, re-marketing, reconditioning and condition reports of commercial assets.

As professionally certified members of the Canadian Personal Property Appraisers Group, they can provide accurate appraisals of a company's equipment.
