Timmins native appointed president of Lake Shore Gold.

Making the switch from one historic mining camp to another, FNX Mining Company Inc. senior vice-president and COO Anthony Makuch has been appointed president and CEO of Lake Shore Gold Corp, effective March 1.

Makuch helped transform FNX from a junior exploration company to an operating mid-tier base metal miner in the Sudbury Basin.

"Being from Timmins, I am very familiar with the gold ore deposits, I know the people and I know the mines, and developing Canada's next set of gold mines in this historic gold camp will be rewarding to the community and to all Lake Shore stakeholders," Makuch said in a release.
