A recommendation to build a new health facility in Kenora was announced by the hospital board members at a general meeting.

The existing hospital is too small for the services being offered now. Any new programs being considered for the community would have no space, therefore a new hospital must be built, says a board member.

Seven sites are being considered for the new location, including areas accessible by water, since the population of Kenora more than doubles to 70,000 in the summer months from cottagers.
