North Bay lands provincial ringette championships: Event will bring 3,000 people to the city.

The 2019 Provincial Ringette Championships will return to the place the sport all began this March.

On Feb. 12, the City of North Bay announced it had been tapped to host the championships, organized by Ringette Ontario, from March 14 to 17.

The local host organization is the West Ferris Ringette Association.

North Bay will hold the provincial championships for four age divisions: under14A, under-14AA, under-16A and under19 A.

Roughly 1,000 players, plus family and support staff, for a total estimated 3,000 people, are expected to descend on North Bay during the four-day event.
