Five initiatives in the Timmins-James Bay area have been awarded a total of $693,391 for various economic development projects, according to an announcement by Guy Lauzon, parliamentary secretary to Tony Clement, Minister for FedNor.

The Town of Kirkland Lake was the largest recipient of the funding, receiving $358,250 to build a service and access corridor to extend infrastructure services into the local industrial park. This is expected to allow for more serviced lots and to better accommodate a new custom sawmill being built by Rosko Forestry Operations.
