The new and improved St. Marys Paper is one step closer to producing and selling its own power.

Ontario Energy Minister Gerry Phillips has directed the Ontario Power Authority to launch a procurement process to find 100 megawatts of power from renewable biomass by June 30.

Sault Ste. Marie MPP David Orazietti says the local super calendar papermaker has an opportunity to participate and build a co-generation plant.
