Peruvian market ripe for exporting opportunities.

The Ministry of Northern Development and Mines is teaming up with Ontario Exports Inc., the province's lead trade agency, to organize a Team Ontario mission this September to the largest mining show in Latin America.

EXTEMIN 2003, which takes place Sept. 15 to 19, occurs every two years in the mining centre of Arequipa, Peru, about a three-hour drive from Lima.

The show usually attracts 9,000 attendees from 30 countries, including the U.S., Germany, Spain, South Africa, Chile and Australia. Mission activities include use of the Ontario Exhibit in the Canadian Pavilion, interpretation services and participation in receptions and briefings by the Canadian Embassy on the Peruvian mining market.

Mining equipment firms, heavy equipment suppliers, hoist operator companies and engineering services interested in joint venture partnerships or distributorships should find opportunities at the event.
