Hydro One is investing $4 million to improve power reliability to Timmins' customers.
A June 29 company press release states the work will include a $3.1 million voltage conversion project. This means 750 customers who now depend on the old low voltage Vimy Distribution Station will now be supplied by the high-voltage Timmins Transformer Station.
