Preface
The Law
Society
of
Upper Canada
has
many time honoured traditions.
One of the
more important traditions
is the
Special Lectures
Series,
which
we
inaugurated
in
1943.
The
Special Lectures
are now a
regular
event
in the
Society's
Continuing
Legal
Education Program.
We are
proud
of the
Lectures.
The
members
of the
legal profession recognize
the
Special Lectures
series
for its
quality
and
utility
to the
legal profession. This
is
due,
undoubtedly,
to the
outstanding contributions
of the
program
faculty.
Each
year
the
Lectures bring together legal experts
of
national
and
inter-
national prominence
to
share their ideas
and
perspectives
on a
particu-
lar
area
of
law.
We
devoted this year's series
to
"The
Law of
Evidence". Speakers
and
participants examined evidentiary issues
of
current relevance
to
barristers
and
solicitors
involved
in
almost every area
of
law.
Special
thanks
to the
distinguished contributing authors
from
the
most
senior
levels
of the
Bench
and Bar for
sharing
their expertise
with
the
profession
in
this well-written, comprehensive publication.
