RBC Royal Bank hosted a consultation session this spring as part of the Prime Minister's Task Force on Women Entrepreneurs, chaired by MP Sarmite Bulte. The task force has been undertaking public consultations and seeking input on how the government can encourage women's entrepreneurship. Among the suggestions from women entrepreneur clients at RBC Royal Bank's roundtable were:

  1. Mentorship programs for women to help navigate the waters, especially in the area of financing;

  2. Government sponsored micro-credit programs, accessible to all women in all regions;

  3. Reduced complexity of the taxation system, including access to Employment Insurance;

  4. Full deductibility of child care expenses;

  5. Continued government support of initiatives to encourage women to export;
