Punishments (sentence) - Probation or probation orders - Conditions - Re relationships - An accused threatened to kill his estranged commonlaw spouse - The accused had a history of similar abusive relationships - The British Columbia Court of Appeal imposed a probationary condition that the accused complete a course for abusive spouses and that before he enter into a new relationship, he appear in court with that person to allow the court to inform her of the accused's history - A commentator discussed this probationary condition, as well as conditions respecting participation in behaviour modification programs, freedom to associate, curfews and court ordered apologies to victims.
