A spokesperson for Great Lakes Nickel Ltd. has confirmed the company is interested in re-activating mining at its metal deposit southwest of Thunder Bay, but aside from planning, no physical work has been done in the area in the past four or five months.

The nickel-copper deposit, the only one Great Lakes owns, is close to the Minnesota border, near Hwy 61.
