Rubicon Minerals reports its Phoenix Gold project in Red Lake remains on schedule to start production by mid-2015.

The mill commissioning process is ahead of schedule and is expected to continue throughout this year's second quarter, including limited processing of some low-grade development material.

In a statement, company president-CEO Michael Lalonde said they're in the "homestretch" toward the projected initial production. "The stockpiling of mill feed continues. We expect that all remaining underground development prior to projected initial production will be completed by the end of May."

As of April 12, 85 per cent of the underground development work was complete.
