A coroner's jury has recommended implementing speed limits and police patrols to logging roads, and encouraged better communication among truckers following a three-day inquest into the death of a trucker.

Gilbert Thomas, 27, died on Jan. 21,2000 when his logging truck collided with a pickup truck, then crashed into a river on a logging road south of Hearst. Thomas's vehicle collided with the truck just prior to crossing a small bridge around 6 a.m.
