Sault eyeing China for local business expansion.

Representatives of the Chinese Investment and Business Alliance of Canada were in Sault Ste. Marie on Aug. 1 to meet with local companies that want to do business in China, particularly in sectors such as agri-food, forestry, and environmental technologies.

The meeting was an initiative of the Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Corporation (EDC).

"China represents a huge opportunity for Canadian businesses to access new markets and growth," said Nevin Buconjic, manager of trade, investment and community marketing for the Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Corporation, in a news release.

The Chinese Investment and Business Alliance of Canada is also organizing a trade mission to China and other global business development activities through its networking infrastructure.
