Company offers one-stop shop for material handling, storage and packaging systems

If meeting Northern Ontario's equipment needs were limited to selling forklifts and skid steers, Equipment World Inc. probably would not have, been in business as long as it has been.

Since establishing operations in Thunder Bay almost 30 years ago, the company's philosophy has been the driving force behind delivering quality service beyond the simple basics.

Specializing in material handling, storage and packaging systems, Equipment World is a one-stop shop offering customers a full- service approach to provide them with the most efficient and effective answers to meet their needs.

According to Lyle Knudsen, Thunder Bay sales manager, it is this philosophy that established Equipment World as a progressive company right from the start. And its innovative-solution, focused approach, he says, is what continues to satisfy customers.

"We can take a totally new project and we can offer total turnkey solutions," says Knudsen.

When it comes to starting up a new business or reconfiguring a warehouse, for example, Equipment World representatives will consult with the client, deal with specifications on design of the new facility, produce the layout and design in conjunction with their planning teams and supply the products to complete the job.

"We can find the right solutions they need, and we can provide installation and follow up with training on the equipment," Knudsen says.

"A big part of our business is initial start-up, but our business is also conducive to downsizing and companies looking to create efficiencies."

Equipment World Inc. is a northwestern Ontario-based company. The company started in 1973 to provide a service that could offer local source specializing in material handling, storage and packaging systems. Equipment World Inc. has since expanded with branches in Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie and Timmins, employing a total of 62 people.
