Inco maintains it will close its Copper Cliff copper refinery, which it calls too small and too old to modernize economically, despite a plea from Sudbury politicians.

Greater Sudbury council voted unanimously 12-0 in favour of a motion by Mayor David Courtemanche calling on Inco not to close the refinery.
