Sudbury infrastructure work lands two awards for R.V. Anderson Associates.

Work on municipal infrastructure for the City of Greater Sudbury has netted a pair of Ontario Public Works Association Project of the Year awards for R.V. Anderson Associates Limited. Based out of Toronto and with offices in Sudbury, R.V. Anderson Associates won an award for "Structures, Greater than $10 Million" for its work on the city's South End Sewage Rock Tunnel Project.

The company planned, designed and oversaw construction of the project, a $31-million, 6.5-kilometre-long sewer system to increase capacity for the area. It was blasted through bedrock more than 25 metres below surface, and the company's approach allows the city to save $300,000 a year for 60 years, or $17 million.
