The booming housing market in northeastern Ontario has translated into expansion for Kaycan Ltd.

The company will be making a cross-town move in February from its cramped 8,000-square-foot facility on Falconbridge Road into a new 26,000-square-foot complex, scheduled for completion this month, in the Walden Industrial Park, across Mumford Drive near Manitoulin Transport.

"We're expanding so we can look after our northern customers better," says Darren Frattini, Sudbury sales manager of the Montreal-based supplier of vinyl siding and aluminum building products.

Kaycan has seven manufacturing plants and 60 distribution centres across Canada and the U.S. The 10-year-old Sudbury branch is the only Northern Ontario branch of the privately owned company.

Frattini says Kaycan has been growing dramatically over the last three years and the company is showing its commitment to expand sales in the Northern Ontario market.

"New construction in Sudbury, North Bay and other areas seems to be going quite strong."
