Timmins nickel miner gets closure plan approval.

Canadian Arrow has received Ontario government approval of an amended closure plan to resume nickel production at its Alexo and Kelex deposits near Timmins.

The Sudbury-based junior miner also received a greenlight from Queen's Park to refine ore outside of Canada.

In a June 15 statement, company president Kim Tyler said two "critical milestones" have been met to resume nickel, mining production.

With two-thirds of the world demand of nickel used for stainless steel, Tyler expects 2011 to "break a new world record" with more than 35 million...
