On October 11th President Bush's advisors floated a proposal to reinterpret conservation taws in the United States with regard to foreign endangered species. President Bush's new proposals will allow the killing, capture, and importing of animals, by big trophy hunters, private collectors, circuses, and pet companies. None of the new proposals would impact US endangered species.

Bush officials stated, 'Giving Americans access to endangered animals would feed the gigantic US demand for live animals, skins, parts and trophies, and generate profits that would allow poor nations to pay for conservation of the remaining animals and their habitat."

These proposed changes in US law would allow American hunters to kill endangered animals in any country in the world if permission from that country's current government...
