Toronto-based Tri Origin Exploration Ltd. has completed its initial phase of diamond exploration at its optioned Wawa project and is now focusing on identifying, locating and sampling kimberlites found on the property.

The 24-square-kilometre project area lies two kilometres east of Wawa within the western extension of the Abitibi Greenstone Belt where numerous diamond occurrences have recently been reported.

Kimberlite, a rock type that has the potential to host diamonds, has been identified. And more importantly, Type II kimberlites have been identified also. A number of the major diamond mines located around the world are hosted by Type II kimberlite.

He says the company is awaiting analysis on the kimberlite. No analysis has been done yet to determine if there are actually diamonds on the property.
