In addition to its perfect location on beautiful Lake Temiskaming, the Waterfront Inn in New Liskeard has given its guests a lot more reasons to enjoy their stay.

Earlier this year, the inn completed a $1 million renovation from top to bottom.

"It was built in 1989 and it was the first major renovation we did," said manager Sean Mackey.

"What we have done is create a boutique hotel, right here in Northern Ontario. We are only a few short steps from Lake Temiskaming and not many hotels in this day and age would be able to be built that close to the water."

The lobby, corridor, meeting space and all 40 rooms are brand new, sporting fresh wallpaper, carpets, furniture and TVs. Guests are now offered a free breakfast, complete with a Tassimo coffee maker to give them that feeling of home.

All the new finishes such as carpets, lighting and artwork were custom designed and won't be seen in any other hotel.

The amenities such as shampoos and soaps are extremely high end, much to the delight of the guests.

"Our guests are telling us that they are the best amenities they have seen in any hotel," he said. "They are very spa like."

However, one aspect that will never change is its downtown location on the shores of Lake Temiskaming. Half the rooms face the lake and the second storey offers balconies where guests can enjoy their morning coffee or watch some spectacular views of the lake in the evening.

The inn sits along the two-kilometre-long boardwalk that hugs the shoreline where guests can enjoy a leisurely stroll.
