Worker injured at Sudbury work site.

A worker was injured at an Interpaving Ltd. work site in Sudbury on July 25.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Labour, Janet Deline, said the injured worker was caught between a building and paving equipment, sustaining injuries to his lower body.

Interpaving Ltd. confirmed the incident, noting the worker was treated at hospital and released.

"A veteran and well-respected employee injured his foot while operating an asphalt spreader. The injury has been deemed non-critical by the Ministry of Labour," Interpaving said in a statement.

"The employee was sent to Health Sciences North for treatment and has since been released. The injury involved bruising. No bones were broken."

The company said its health and safety team, alongside the Ministry of Labour, conducted an investigation to identify the cause of the occurrence.
