About the Author

Denis Boivin, B.Soc.Sc., LL.B., LL.M., is Professor of Law at the univer-

sity of Ottawa, Faculty of Law. A graduate of Yale Law School and a

Fulbright Scholar, he teaches Insurance Law, Remedies, and Torts, and

has written several articles on these subjects, in both English and

French. Professor Boivin is a member of the Law Society of Upper

Canada and is the recipient of several awards for teaching and scholar-

ship, including the 1999 Canadian Association of Law Teachers Award

for Scholarly Writing.
