About the Authors

Julien D. Payne, CM, QC, LLD, LSM , FRSC, one of Canada’s foremost family

law special ists, has been called t he architect of the Unied Family Cour t and

No-Fault Divorce. He has taught family law at the Universities of Alberta,

Western Ontario, Ottawa, and Saskatchewan and has written extensively

about family law and fa mily dispute resolution. His writi ngs have been cited

on hundreds of occasions by trial courts and appellate courts in Canada, in-

cluding the Supreme Court of C anada. He was awarded the Law Societ y Med-

al by the Law Society of Upper Canada in  and was made a member of

the Order of Canada i n . Julien D. Payne is the co-author of Child Suppor t

Guidelines in Canada, 2015, published by Irw in Law.

Marilyn A. Payne is an experienced author and the founding editor of

Payne’s Divorce and Family Law Digest. She is the co-author of Child Support

Guidelines in Canada, 2015, published by Irw in Law.
