I am very grateful to the Administrative Sciences Asso-
ciation of Canada for selecting me as the new Editor-in-chief
of the Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences (CJAS).
It is with humility and hope that I walk in the shoes of all the
great scholars who preceded me starting with the founding
editor, Dr. Ronald J. Burke (York), who successfully
launched the journal 35 years ago, to Dr. V.V. Baba who
brought the quality, inf‌luence, and impact of CJAS to new
heights. Thanks to their efforts, the CJAS is today an interna-
tional journal that is increasingly cited, and distributed all
over the world and. I am also very happy to work with John
Wiley & Sons, which is one of the best publishing houses in
the world.
During the next f‌ive years, I am hoping to continue this
growth and build on their accomplishments. While the jour-
nal will continue to showcase the remarkable contributions
to knowledge of Canadian scholars from all the disciplines
in the administrative sciences, I welcome high quality man-
uscripts from international scholars especially on issues rel-
evant to all administrative sciences researchers. Since CJAS
is a multidisciplinary journal, I welcome submissions deal-
ing with emerging content areas such as the new digital
world (e.g. online commerce, digital divide, and the use
of new information technologies), the roles of online com-
munities and social media in an increasingly globalized
world, the development of the Internet of things, the use
of big data analytics, the implications of the new sharing
economy, and so on.
To conclude, I would like to thank Dr. V. V. Baba and
Melissa Corey, the Managing Editor, for a very thorough
and smooth transition, and for their remarkable efforts on be-
half of the journal. I look forward to working with Norma
Paradis, who is the new Managing Editor of CJAS. I am also
very grateful to all the great scholars who have accepted my
invitation to serve the journal as Associate Editors. Finally, I
am sure you will enjoy reading all the articles published in
this f‌irst issue of 2017.
