Personal injuries and death - Multiple injuries - General - 43 year old male plaintiff - Fractured pelvis requiring pin insertion and 1 month of traction - Continued inflammation in hip joint requiring use of anti-inflammatory drugs - Permanent discomfort which increased with activity including the plaintiff's job, which involved manual labour in varying weather conditions - Future possibility of hip joint replacement with prosthesis - Lacerated shoulder requiring sutures - Permanent 10% reduction in movement and lump in shoulder area - The Nova Scotia Supreme Court, Trial Division, awarded the plaintiff $18,000.00 general damages - See paragraph 20.
