Summary:

A prisoner in a federal institution sought the release of personal information concern­ing himself held in various information banks of the Correctional Service of Canada. Some information was released, but some was withheld. The prisoner complained to the Privacy Commissioner. The Commis­sioner held that the withheld material was properly exempted under the Privacy Act. The prisoner applied to the court for judicial review.

The Federal Court of Canada, Trial Divi­sion, allowed the application in part.
