Summary:

In 1963, Inglis agreed to design, manufac­ture and install a turbine generator at a Manitoba Hydro generating station. In 1967 the certification of completion was issued by Hydro. On March 10, 1992, an explosion occurred at the station. Hydro alleged that it suffered damages of $30,000,000 and on March 9, 1992, applied under s. 14(1) of the Limitation of Actions Act for leave to sue Inglis and several other companies.

The Manitoba Court of Queen's Bench allowed the application as it related to Inglis and one other company.
