Sentencing - Considerations on imposing sentence - Sexual offences against children (incl. child pornography) - The accused appealed his four-year penitentiary sentence for four convictions related to child pornography - The convictions involved two separate incidents - In the first, the accused made child pornography by hiding a video camera in a bedroom and filming his 13 year old niece as she changed - In the second incident two years later, he lured a 16 year old girl to his home via the internet and convinced her to pose nude making over 600 images of child pornography - Guilty pleas - Accused in mid 40's - Led exemplary life in the military - No criminal record - Remorseful - Was in a position of trust towards his niece - Groomed the 16 year old victim - The accused appealed the sentence - The Ontario Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal - The sentence was fit.
