Summary:
In December 2001, the accused was charged with sexual assault. The matter came to trial in December 2005. The accused moved for a stay of proceedings on the basis that his right to a speedy trial under s. 11(b) of the Charter had been breached.
The Manitoba Court of Queen's Bench dismissed the motion.
