Sentence - Sexual assault - 49 year old accused sociopath convicted of three counts of sexual assault involving three junior high school girls, aged 14 or 15, whom he turned into his "sexual toys" through the use of alcohol, drugs or intimidation - 24 prior convictions since the accused was 19, including theft, robbery, dangerous driving, trafficking in narcotics, escape and sexual assault - An "incorrigible criminal" - No guilt or sense of personal responsibility - Manipulative - Unlikely to change - Sexual impulses towards young women repetitive, persistent and uncontrolled - Spent 2.5 years in custody pending sentencing - The Manitoba Court of Queen's Bench held that the accused was a dangerous offender - The court, however, upon consideration, sentenced the accused to a total of 14 years' imprisonment, rather than an indeterminate period.
