Sentence - Trafficking in a narcotic - The accused were convicted of the charge of conspiracy to traffic in phencyclidine, a narcotic, contrary to section 423(1)(d) of the Criminal Code - The accused were aged 28 and 38 - See paragraph 17 - Both accused had criminal records although not related to drug offences - See paragraph 20 - The Newfoundland Provincial Court imposed a sentence of imprisonment of six years on each accused - The trial judge stated that in determining sentence consideration was given to: the factor of deterrence, the guilty pleas by both accused and the bail custody and remand custody time of each accused - See paragraphs 19, 21, 22.
