Since
the

written, there have
been

number

important recent developments
in
securities regula-
tion.
We
will touch upon three
of
those developments
in
this chapter:
The
February 2002 British Columbia Securities Commission's
Concept Paper entitled,
"New
Concepts
for
Securities Regulation"
Approval
of
National Instruments

and
54-102,
and the
imminent rescission
of
National Policy
No. 41
The
OSC's recently announced policy
to
give "credit"
to
those
who
cooperate with
OSC
investigations

Columbia
Securities Commission
Concept Paper
In
February 2002,
the
British Columbia Securities Commission pub-
lished
a
concept paper entitled "New Concepts
for
Securities
Regulation."
Arising
from
the
British Columbia Commission's deregu-
lation
project,
the
concept paper's deregulation goal
is
evident
from
the
notice accompanying
its
release.
The
paper
discusses
six
central concepts:
