The Art of the Interview:
Use of This Handbook
   this book is on interview skills for lawyers,
from the perspective of the interviewer. Lawyers with ad-
vocacy experience are already familiar with many of the
lessons found in the following chapters. However, novice
lawyers who seek to develop or improve their skills, or to
create a systematic approach to what has been somewhat
randomly structured, should consider incorporating the
techniques described in this book into their own practices.

sisting of a number of related sections. Each section
begins with a description of a common problem encoun-
tered during lawyer-client interviews and ends with prac-
tical exercises aimed at solving that problem.
