About the Authors

Julien D Payne, CM , QC, LLD, LSM, FRSC, one of Canad a’s foremost family

law specialists, has been cal led the architect of the Unied Family Court and

No-Fault Divorce. He has taught family law at the Universities of Alberta,

Western Ontario, Ottawa, a nd Saskatchewan and ha s written exte nsively

about family law and family dispute resolution. His writings have been cited

on hundreds of occas ions by tria l courts and appel late courts in Canada, i n-

cluding the Supreme Cour t of Canada. He was awarded the Law So ciety Med-

al by the Law Societ y of Upper Canada i n  and was made a member of

the Order of Canada i n . Julien D Payne is the co-author of Child Suppor t

Guidelines in Canada, 2012, published by Ir win Law.

Marilyn A Payne is an experienced author a nd the founding editor of Pay ne’s

Divorce and Family Law Digest. She is the co-author of Child Supp ort Guidelines
