Chapter 6: Liability of Successive Carriers
A. GENERAL
The Montreal and Warsaw Conventions both provide that, in the case
of carriage performed by several successive carriers, each carrier who
accepts passengers, baggage, or cargo is subject to the rules of the
Conventions and deemed to be a party to the contract of carriage inso-
far as it relates to that part of the carriage performed by that carrier.1
B. PASSENGER COMPENSATION
Action for passenger death, injury, or delay can be taken only against
the carrier which performed the carriage during which the death,
injury, or delay occurred.2
C. BAGGAGE AND CARGO
Action for loss, damage, or delay to baggage or cargo may be taken as
follows:
