Scope Communications law in Canada tends to be heavily regulated by the federal government through such government agencies as the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) and by the federal Broadcasting Act, S.C. 1991, c. 11 and Telecommunications Act, S.C. 1993, c. 38. Media law (and the law of defamation) is discussed in a separate category below in this chapter (under Media Law).
